A young Liverpool-based rock band named Matchstickmen appeared ready, willing, and more-than-able to add another exciting chapter to their home town’s noble rock history book.
Lewis Wright - Vocals, Piano.
Peter Donnelly - Guitar.
Iain Forsyth - Bass, Backing vocals &
"Dangerous" - Dave Hornby Drums.
Matchstickmen’s passion for music is clearly evident to all who hear their music or see them perform. The band energises their audience in a way that has so far greatly surpassed any of their rivals and earned themselves an array of prominent gigs opening for acts such as Electric Six, The Quireboys, Taking Dawn and InMe to name a few.
“From Our Own Ashes” is essentially the best songs from the Matchstickmen catalogue re-recorded and re-mastered plus 6 brand-new songs. 2017 Matchstickmen will change their name to Attic Theory and will bring with them more new music for fans of classic rock.
"....an absolute delight to listen to. It’s a blast from the past and fresh out of the box at the same time. Any rock in roll fan is bound to love it. MUSIC UNLABELED
"... combines the raw seduction of bands such as INXS with the added twist of a darker grungier feel...the band has once again managed to prove their ability to produce anthemic rock songs, songs that attach themselves to your brain, whilst still remaining unpredictable with their sound. PURPLE REVOLVER
"... fantastic homage to classic rock full of pounding basslines and raucous riffs, a real crowd pleaser - SONIC BANDWAGON
“Matchstickmen’s songs always have very thought-provoking lyrics and catchy melodies and "Imperfection" is a brilliant example of the band at their best." - UK ARTS
